Australian private investigator careers

ProFact recruits investigators and support staff who work to a documented standard: lawful methods, written scope, and reporting that holds up to review. If you are licensed, training toward a licence, or bring transferable skills from law enforcement, insurance, or legal support, we would like to hear from you.

Working at ProFact / 01

Work that has to stand up to review.

We hire people who can document what they observe, follow written scope, and accept senior oversight on every file. You will not be asked to fill volume quotas or produce findings a client wants to hear. The job is to gather evidence lawfully, record it properly, and hand it over in a form that survives scrutiny.

That suits investigators and support staff who are patient in the field, precise on paper, and honest when a brief cannot go further. Licensing rules depend on the role and your state. If you are unsure where you stand, submit an expression of interest and we will tell you plainly.

Roles / 02

Where we are hiring

Opportunities change as the firm grows. These are the roles we recruit for most often across our national practice.

01

Field investigator

Licensed investigators who conduct surveillance, locate subjects, attend interviews, and gather evidence in the field. You will work under a senior investigator who scopes the brief and reviews all material before it leaves the firm.

02

Surveillance operative

Experienced operatives for static and mobile surveillance deployments. You need strong observation skills, reliable reporting habits, and the discipline to work within state surveillance and privacy legislation.

03

Desk researcher & analyst

Researchers who compile background profiles, asset searches, and open-source intelligence under documented protocols. Accuracy, source citation, and clear written output matter more than speed alone.

04

Intake & operations support

Coordinators who manage brief intake, client communication, scheduling, and file administration. You are often the first point of contact and must handle sensitive information with care and consistency.
