Independent Enquiries Clarified Concerns

A corporate client engaged investigators to verify information relating to an individual's suspected place of employment. The client required an independent assessment to determine whether available intelligence justified further investigative activity and to establish whether the reported workplace connection could be substantiated.

The Brief

The client sought independent confirmation regarding an individual’s suspected employment at a commercial office location.

Available information suggested the individual may have been associated with a particular workplace; however, the client required objective verification before committing additional resources to a broader investigation.

The matter called for a measured approach focused on establishing facts rather than assumptions.

What We Did

Investigators conducted discreet observations at the nominated location during business hours to determine whether the individual could be identified entering, exiting, or otherwise attending the premises.

In parallel, limited enquiries were undertaken within the building to assess whether publicly available information could substantiate the reported employment connection.

Throughout the operation, investigators maintained a lawful and proportionate approach, limiting observations to activities occurring in public view.

What We Found

The surveillance period did not produce any sightings of the individual at the location.

Subsequent enquiries were unable to obtain sufficient information to independently confirm an employment relationship with any business operating from the premises.

As a result, investigators were unable to verify the reported workplace connection based on the information available at the time of the assessment.

Outcome

The assessment provided the client with an evidence-based understanding of the situation and prevented assumptions from being treated as verified facts.

Rather than proceeding immediately to further investigative expenditure, the client was able to evaluate next steps using objective findings and identify whether additional intelligence would be required before future enquiries could be justified.

This matter highlights the importance of independent verification when assessing employment, association, or location-based intelligence.
